How it works
Where do I find an item's inspect link?
In your Steam inventory, or on a Community Market listing, right-click the Inspect in Game… button
and choose Copy link address. Trading sites usually have an inspect button that copies the same
link.
Paste the whole link above — the steam:// part included — or just the long code at its end.
What does it show?
- Float (wear value) to full precision, and the exterior it falls in.
- Pattern seed, which decides where the pattern sits on the weapon.
- Stickers with their slots and scrape, the charm and its pattern.
- StatTrak™ count and the name tag, when the item has them.
Open in 3D loads that exact item in the viewer: same float, pattern,
stickers and charm, which you can rotate, zoom, hold in first person and share as a link.
Why does my link say it's an older-style link?
Since March 2026, inspect links carry the item itself, so they can be read anywhere. Older links — ones
ending in something like S7656…A123…D456 — only point at an item and can only be answered by
Valve's servers through a logged-in game client. Copy a fresh link from your inventory or the market and
it will work.
Is it safe to paste my link?
Yes. An inspect link only describes how the item looks; it can't be used to trade, sell or log into
anything. This page decodes it in your browser and doesn't send it to us or anyone else.
